Yulu offers a comprehensive three-month, full-time internship that will set you up for success in your communications career, and has the potential to convert into a permanent position.

We have a thorough training and mentorship process that will give you the opportunity to work with some of the most socially- and environmentally-progressive organizations across the world. We’ll have you handling everything from researching purpose-driven communications initiatives, to media list creation, to writing, pitching and event coordination. If you’re a strong writer who’s in the know about current events, you place a premium on a fun work atmosphere, and you like dogs – we want to meet you!

Here’s just a sample of what your day at Yulu might entail:

  • Conducting industry research for Yulu’s socially and environmentally responsible clients
  • Working with Yulu’s account teams to develop and share creative ideas and impact-led solutions for our clients
  • Crafting engaging social media copy, adapting voice for multiple clients and platforms including but not limited to LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and X.
  • Staying on top of media stories, and social media trends in the purpose-driven space and in our clients’ industries
  • Compiling media coverage and social media growth reports that put impact at the forefront
  • Researching and creating media and influencer contact lists
  • Writing compelling pitch notes using the principles of impact storytelling
  • Pitching media (must feel comfortable with phone pitching – we will train you!)
  • Participating in team lunch & learns on various UN SDGs

 

Details: Three months starting on Jan 6th 2025. It’s full-time (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm – one hour for lunch)

Here’s a sample of what a week in the life of a digital strategist might entail:

Strategy:

  • Developing comprehensive digital strategies that are in alignment with our clients’ short-term goals and longer-term strategic digital communications plans
  • Offering strategic input on social media strategies and multi-channel editorial calendars (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube and Tik Tok)
  • Being the digital brand guardian for clients: making sure content – whether it’s written or visual – is on brand, and communicates the most important message to the intended audiences
  • Being the ‘quality controller’ for all digital content; being a strategist, word-smith and design critique to ensure we deliver the best work possible

Execution:

  • Overseeing the execution of the digital strategies; keeping projects on track in terms of achieving the goals and deliverables within the timeframe set, including editing social media and longform copy and social media graphics
  • Visualizing video shoots; script writing for videos 

Client relations and new business:

  • Sitting in on client meetings to identify opportunities to add value to Yulu’s clients through new digital or creative services, and being comfortable with upselling new projects 
  • Looking for ways to grow your team’s digital and creative abilities by gaining knowledge of industry news, trends and technology

People management:

  • Line managing 2-3 team members, all experts in design and/ or social media;  offering team members positive feedback and coaching on digital, content and brand strategy skills
  • Coaching team members on how to apply greater positive impact and achieve meaningful results for an upcoming creative campaign

Assumptions:

  • 5-8 years’ agency and/or in-house experience in a digital, content or brand marketing capacity

  • Directing strategic research, planning and consultancy for a new partners
