Training the trainers at the world’s only government organization focused on distance learning
Commonwealth of Learning (COL) is the world’s only intergovernmental organization solely concerned with the development of distance education and open learning. With member countries in Africa, Asia, the Americas, Europe and the Pacific, COL helps developing nations improve access to quality education and training – through open learning knowledge, resources and technologies.
COL engaged Yulu to work with in-country experts and educators on how to communicate COL’s unique brand, and measure the impact of their work.
Execution & Impact
Yulu hosted a half-day workshop for 40 people, including senior managers, advisers, education specialists, program assistants and coordinators.
This interactive workshop focused on communications training, with a specific focus on engaging COL’s ultimate end stakeholder, from the out-of-school youth in a remote village in Trinidad, to the indigenous bee-keeper in Uganda, to the teacher in Samoa.
Workshop participants were encouraged to contribute ideas, and share cross-country learnings on how to engage stakeholders in different regions.
Post workshop, Yulu provided a report with recommendations on how to implement suggestions discussed in order to take COL communications and stakeholder engagement to the next level.
