2011
Yulu opens for business with a social purpose mandate to maintain a 50% cause-based client portfolio, and debuts #YuluCares with the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society – awarding CPAWS with a pro-bono PR campaign to support their mission to protect Canada’s public land, freshwater, and oceans.

2012
Yulu’s work with Fuck Cancer earns an international Stevie Award for “Best PR Campaign of the Year” – in recognition of “The Cancer Talk” campaign, which reached more than 500 million people in one year.

2013
The Clinton Global Initiative engages Yulu to amplify a game-changing social enterprise model designed to innovate the approach to philanthropy, offering employment opportunities rather than charitable handouts to alleviate poverty – landing CGEP on Inc. Magazine’s “25 Most Audacious Companies” list.

2014
Yulu joins World Housing to launch the world’s first one-for-one real estate gifting model – visiting Cambodia to meet some of the NGO partners that helped make it possible. To date, WH has housed more than 4,000 people across seven countries.

2015
Yulu becomes the first PR firm to earn B Corporation certification, reinforcing our standing commitment and mandate to use business as a force for good. And plays a small hand in B Corp’s fight to repeal the HB2 “bathroom bill” in North Carolina.

2016
Yulu collaborates with values-aligned communicators to create an evolution of PR called Impact Relations, a communications discipline aimed to leverage the tools of communications to influence positive social and environmental change. Three years later execs from Ben & Jerry’s, Kind Snacks, Sustainable Brands, and Porter Novelli would join the board in scaling this ideology and practice.

2017
Red Bull North America engages Yulu to develop the PR program for the Red Bull Amaphiko Academy, a platform designed to lift up grassroots social entrepreneurs who were creating innovative solutions for issues impacting their communities.

2018
Carbon Engineering and Yulu join forces to announce a scientific breakthrough – CE’s scalable and cost-effective solution for removing CO2 from the atmosphere – securing 150 media stories on the first day of launch, with more than 400 hits in the first month. Turns out, when you make fuel from thin air, it’s global news!

2019
Yulu teams up with ALDO Group to build the brand purpose journey for its vegan brand Call It Spring, including the launch of its vegan & sustainability collection.

2020
Yulu becomes a Benefit Corp, supporting the effort to bring Benefit Corp legislation to Canada, and registers as one of the first 30 organizations nationally to legally commit to conducting its business in a responsible and sustainable way.

2021
In the same year of our 10-year anniversary, Yulu adds UNICEF, Audible, and The Body Shop to its client portfolio, developing social purpose strategies, activism frameworks, and community development programs to leverage their individual platforms and influence to drive positive, systemic change.
