Artists for Conservation Festival on Grouse Mountain.

Yulu builds national awareness for AFC’s supporting artists supporting the environment.

The Challenge

Artists for Conservation (AFC) is the world’s leading group of artists supporting the environment. The non-profit organization was hosting a 10-day festival at Grouse Mountain in Vancouver and wished to generate community awareness around the workshops, lectures and events taking place through Vancouver media.

The Solution

After the provincial government issued the highest number of hunting authorizations in decades, AFC focused the attention of their festival to highlight the bear threat and initiate the First International Bear Day. Yulu was able to hi-jack the motion to initiate a bear ban and leverage the AFC’s staff expertise to offer spokespeople on the issue, bringing awareness to the organization while driving interest to and attendance at the festival.

The Result & Impact

Yulu was able to secure more than 100 positive brand impressions across print, online and broadcast outlets. Coverage included features on Global News, Huffington Post, The Province and the North Shore News. Support for the event was so well received that the event was extended for an additional week.
