Gordon Nelson Inc. Purchases Tofino Based Luxury Resort.
Pacific Sands engages Yulu to promote the sale of the family owned business, launching it on national media platforms.
Pacific Sands has been a family owned institution in a tight knit community for over 40 years. How would a community like Tofino react to the sale of the property and the new ownership? In addition, how would Yulu attract interest for national media regarding the sale when it relates to a local Vancouver Island story?
Knowing there was international interest in the property while it was for sale, Yulu leveraged the fact that the final buyer was another local BC based business, which was also family-owned and operated. To attract interest beyond the BC market, Yulu looked to the growing surf culture in Tofino and the international interest in the year-round surfing opportunities. Pacific Sands was uniquely positioned to be one of the few resorts in Tofino that allows a true ‘surf-in, surf-out’ experience, situated directly on Cox Bay.
The sale announcement of Pacific Sands to Gordon Nelson generated over a dozen articles, including national coverage in Huffington Post and the front page of the real estate sections and business sections of the Victoria Times Colonist and Vancouver Sun. In addition, Gordon Nelson was featured as the cover story for the Western Investor, a monthly real estate trade publication. The majority of articles included the pre-established messaging that Gordon Nelson was a ‘local family run company’ and were positive on the impact this sale would achieve in Tofino.
