RED Mountain to launch B4BC Shred for Love
Women’s ski and ride benefit set for February 2, 2013
Rossland, BC, November 15, 2012 – RED Mountain and Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC) are pleased to announce Shred For Love, a ski and snowboard benefit event at RED Mountain Resort in Rossland, BC.
The event is an inclusive ski and ride day where RED Mountain Resort will donate 50 per cent of its day ticket revenue to help raise funds for several of B4BC’s initiatives, including scholarships through the Survivorship Fund to ReTreat Yourself, a yoga, ski and snowboard retreat for women who have been affected by breast cancer. Activities at RED that day will include ski and snowboard demos as well as breast cancer screening information booths. Top skiers and snowboarders including Megan Pischke, Kendra Starr and professional skier Kasha Rigby will be in attendance. The day will end with an après ski party at Rafter’s bar with a national recording artist performing.
Shred for Love is open to all who want to help raise funds for breast cancer by skiing at RED that day. The event will also include raffles of top ski and snowboard gear and drink specials in the bar that will help raise funds for B4BC.
Boarding for Breast Cancer will spend a percentage of the funds in the Rossland/Trail community, where they were raised. RED hopes to make Shred for Love an annual event. Stay tuned for more details as they become available.
Shred for Love is one of several Women’s Week (insert dates here) activities at RED Mountain Resort. Women’s ski and snowboard camps from top women’s snow sports athletes will also be taking place.
